Here’s an interesting fact about those cardboard java jackets from the story:

When you forget your reusable mug (or just don’t want to lug yours around for the very occasional cup out), cardboard coffee sleeves can add up to 10 extra pounds of waste to your personal trash pile each year.

It really does make me all warm and fuzzy inside to know that something I’m creating is keeping so much waste out of the landfills.

Pancake Breakfast

This weekend I worked on a custom order for a band! I’m very excited about this project, and I am really pleased with how everything turned out. The band is called Pancake Breakfast, and the special order consisted of a set of 15 coffee cozies with the Pancake Breakfast logo embroidered on them. I mailed the order off today so the cozies will arrive in time for the next Pancake Breakfast gig on Thursday at the Alberta Street Pub.

Cathy just brought it to my attention that Flapper Girl coffee cozies are featured in today’s Venus Zine newsletter and on their website! Venus’ Emily Ransom showed off her favorite eco-friendly home items for a special Earth Day Round Up, and included my cozies. How exciting! Thank you, Venus Zine! You just put a skip in this girl’s step.

WINTER + COFFEE + READING = LOVE

I’m so proud and pleased to announce that Powell’s Books now carries Flapper Girl coffee cozies. They have my squirrel, bicycle, and vintage eyewear cozy designs in stock right now. You can find them on one of the end cap displays in the Orange Room near the cookbooks. So check those out when you’re doing your holiday book shopping this month. On Saturday night my little family and I went to Powell’s like we do every week. It was really, really neat to see my coffee cup cozies there. I wish I had remembered to bring my digital camera to snap a quick pic, but alas, I forgot.
