I always look forward to the Portland Halloween Bazaar every year. This year’s event was a lot of fun per usual. The show was pretty packed all day long, and I was so happy to see that Sunday’s gloomy, rainy weather did not deter anyone from coming out to join the spooky fun.
My pals Misha, Cori, and Krista stopped by to say hello and it was really awesome to see their smiling faces. Thanks for all the love and support, ladies!

I almost forgot to show you how I ended up packaging my garlands for Crafty Wonderland. I strung up one of my vintage camera garlands above my main display, like this.
Then I whipped up some packaging for the garlands, and enclosed them in plastic sleeves:
The packaging design isn’t perfect, but it worked in a pinch. I need to re-work the design when I get the time to do so. It’s one of the many things I look forward to getting done over summer break.

I love my new teal tiered display! You can make your own with this tutorial by Elsie of A Beautiful Mess.

Well, today the countdown begins! Only five days until Crafty Wonderland‘s Super Colossal Spring Sale. I spent a lot of time sewing and slicing paper this weekend. I figured out my display too, and it still involves my cute vintage kids fridge. Whoo hoo!
That said, this week is going to be dedicated to getting everything together for the big event. Although I have a lot done, there is still a ton of other stuff to accomplish. I’ll be sure to take plenty of photos this weekend, and I’ll get back to my regularly scheduled blogging on May 3rd.
I hope to see you at the show this weekend! I’ll have a ton of retro tulle hostess aprons in pretty spring pastels, paper garlands, cupcake picks, flapper ornaments, plus some other old favorites, and new surprises!

I’m so glad the weekend is here. It’s been a long week, and more long weeks are to come. I’m really looking forward to the little weekend getaway Chas and I have planned (more about that in a minute). If I was going to be in Portland this weekend, though, I’d definitely go check this out:
Portland Healing Project is hosting its final installment in their workshop series on Saturday, April 17—that’s tomorrow!—from Noon to 1:30pm.
HERBAL ABC’s will be led by Dr. JJ Pursell of The Herb Shoppe*. Dr. Pursell will be lecturing on the basics:
• Top five herbs to know
• Herbal preparation, and
• A tour of the Herb Shoppe
Sounds awesome! While I’m bummed out I’m going to miss the workshop, I’m super excited to be heading North for a few days.
On Saturday, we’ll be in Tacoma, where Chas will be presenting a lecture about contemporary Northwest photography at the Tacoma Art Musuem. I’m so proud of him!
We’ll be staying the night in Tacoma, then driving up to Seattle on Sunday to relax, explore, and check out some art. I’m sure a trip to Daiso is in store as well.
See you on Monday!
* A favorite on the Portland Healing Project blog, and carrier of fine Flapper Girl goods!

I can’t believe Crafty Wonderland‘s Super Colossal Spring Show is less than a month away! The count down has officially begun, and I’m at that point where I’m writing detailed lists of what I need to accomplish each day.
This weekend I made a set of the adorable 1″ buttons you see above, using vintage fabric and turquoise vintage owl beads. These will be included in some of the awesome swag bags given out to the first people through the doors of the Super Colossal Spring Show.
That’s right—Cathy & Torie will be handing out 200 goodie bags each day, for a total of 400 bags given out over the course of the weekend!
Each goodie bag is filled with all sorts of treats and samples made by various crafty people participating in the show, plus other cool stuff donated by the show’s sponsors. If you want the chance to snatch one up for yourself, mark your calendar now for May 1 & 2, and show up before the doors open at 11am.
See you there!

The 20th Annual Buckman Art Show & Sell is happening this weekend. This event is near and dear to my little family’s heart, since our daughter Nattie goes to Buckman Elementary, and we know firsthand how important this fundraiser is for the school, and how excited all the classes are to participate.
Nattie created a set of fourteen softies for the event that she’s calling Tutti Fruities. They are all various fruits: coconuts, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, lemons, and even a pineapple!
Both Chas and I are super proud of all the hard work and dedication Nattie has put into making her collection of softies. Not only did she make all of these little guys by hand, but she also made little tags for each softie that has the softie’s name and a little bit about his or her personality.
You can take home your own Tutti Fruity for only $5 at the Buckman Art Show & Sale happening March 12 & 13. Details here.
