Portland Halloween Bazaar

October 12, 2010

I always look forward to the Portland Halloween Bazaar every year. This year’s event was a lot of fun per usual. The show was pretty packed all day long, and I was so happy to see that Sunday’s gloomy, rainy weather did not deter anyone from coming out to join the spooky fun.

My pals Misha, Cori, and Krista stopped by to say hello and it was really awesome to see their smiling faces. Thanks for all the love and support, ladies!

Garlands on Display

May 4, 2010

I almost forgot to show you how I ended up packaging my garlands for Crafty Wonderland. I strung up one of my vintage camera garlands above my main display, like this.

Then I whipped up some packaging for the garlands, and enclosed them in plastic sleeves:

The packaging design isn’t perfect, but it worked in a pinch. I need to re-work the design when I get the time to do so. It’s one of the many things I look forward to getting done over summer break.

I love my new teal tiered display! You can make your own with this tutorial by Elsie of A Beautiful Mess.

Craft Fair Display Options

April 21, 2010

So Crafty Wonderland is coming up in 10 short days, and the closer it gets, the more I am convincing myself to bring a stash of my paper garlands. Here’s the thing though—how in the heck am I going to display them?

My current setup uses this really cute vintage children’s play fridge, which I really love, but it’s super compact.

I’m not sure how I would be able to display the garlands on this thing, you know? Packaging them, and having a small book of photos to look at could work in theory, but I think I would still need at least one garland out on display to get people interested, and to help them understand what they are looking at.

I have one of these cute metal display trees from IKEA. I thought about maybe getting another one, so I could drape a garland between them on a regular ol’ table. However, I don’t think IKEA carries these anymore, and I haven’t been able to find any for sale online.

Maybe I could make some sort of contraption out of thin, painted dowels that could extend upwards from each of the open refrigerator doors on my current display, and drape the garland between those. Perhaps that would work.

Hmmmm. I’m sort of stumped at the moment. So, dear readers, I must ask…

Have you seen any cute craft fair displays lately? Especially ones that are displaying garlands or banners? I’d love to know what you’ve seen lately.

Whew! What a Busy Weekend

February 9, 2009

I want to send a big shout-out to everyone who stopped by my sales this weekend. Thank you so much! It was great to see all of your smiling faces.

I also want to share the new and improved Flapper Girl display case. Check it out below in all its glory.

It’s a metal vintage children’s play refrigerator! Isn’t it great? I love all the food items printed onto the inside of the doors and the ice box area. So far it takes the cake as thrift find of the year. The banner is new as well. It was a very thoughtful (and much-appreciated) Christmas present from a family friend.
